Summertime at Grovefield House Hotel
We have simply loved the recent good weather and Father’s Day was spent with dads having a crack at our archery course. We’ve also been to the first of our local school fetes where Grovefield had a stand selling smoothies made from exotic fruit, letting the children have a taste and promoting healthy eating. Eat your heart out Jamie Oliver!
Guests often leave things behind but we had our oddest thing recently – a guest left two goldfish in a bowl. The team are now deciding what to call them…
Bollywood comes to Grovefield
Over the Bank Holiday we ignored the rain and held a Dancing Nikita Day – 30 children learning to dance Indian-style, with face painting, a bouncy castle and in the evening 100 adults, in fabulous outfits, dancing the night away in great traditional and modern Bollywood style. www.dancingnikitacompany.com
Is summer here?
Last Friday we had a fabulous Pamper and Shop event with mini facials, Indian head massages, make up lesson, reflexology, threading – it was all happening, followed by some retail therapy, with a sell out of rose wine. Best of all was that we raised £250.00 raised for the Thomas Ball Children Cancer fund. It was great evening relaxing on the terrace after all that shopping – one guest told me all we need now is a swimming pool and a gorgeous pool attendant !
We’ve had several guests staying who were talking part in last week’s Royal Windsor Horse Show – 2 ladies in the Under-21 dressage and showing came second so congratulations to them!
Our next charity night is 17th June raising money for Riding for the Disabled in Henley on Thames. See you there?
